New video series
We’d like to let you know about a new online parent video series we’re developing. It’s intended to be used in conjunction with our Instant Help teen book “The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Teen Anxiety” (Sheri Turrell, Chris McCurry, & Mary Bell). The videos summarize the content of the teen book and give parents some ideas of experiential exercises to try for themselves as they deal with their own emotions, and their teens’.
We’re hoping that if parents can have a brief exposure to some of the ACT concepts, they will be better able to understand and reinforce what their teens are learning and less likely to encourage the control strategies their teens are just beginning to give up. In addition to the three co-authors, we’ve invited our highly innovative colleague Erin Lipsitt to join us on this project. A very first, exploratory version of the series is now available on YouTube. We’re hoping to get feedback from that from which to shape a more developed version. You are welcome to share the link to anyone you think might benefit.
